Why We Love Roman Shades
Fabric Roman Shades are hip and cool and all over the Home magazines. They've been around a long time, but right now they're hot. Why? Because Roman shades can be the only treatment you put on your window and you'll get a beautiful result. However, you can combine your shades with valances, drapes or cornices to achieve the look you see in the all magazines. We've always loved them as a window treatment. Some of the Roman Shade pictures on this page are shown with "optional" valances. We have so many options to meet all your design and functionality needs. Our standard size shades (20" to 60") ship Free while our oversize shades (61" to 96") ship by our affordable truck rates.

Privacy & Light Control
Do you have a nosey neighbor? Roman Shades offer superior light and privacy control. In the evenings, you can easily drop them down and get 100% privacy. In the morning, lift them all the way to get beautiful light. With most fabrics, you can leave the shade down during the day and still get nice ambient light. If you like to keep your room dark during daylight hours, order your shade with blackout lining.
We now have the ultimate Roman Shade for privacy and light control called the "Top-Down-Bottom-Up" shade. It functions just like a standard shade and drops from the top. You can also release it from the top mechanism and create your light on the upper area of the window. This is an essential feature for bedrooms and bathrooms. You can get dressed in total privacy while allowing the beautiful morning light into the room.

Get to get the Most from your Measuring
Shades can be mounted inside or outside your window casing.
Always use a steel tape measure and follow our detailed measuring guidelines.
Inside mounting requires a little more measuring care and a 2" deep window recess. You also need the select from one of our "square" shade styles. Balloon type shade do not work well with inside mounting.
Outside mounting requires the shade to be mounted above the window casing. To accommodate the mounting "L" brackets you need to add 3" to the over all length of the shade. Also, add a minimum of 1" to your casing-to-casing width measurement. When your shade is closed, this will ensure that your casing is completely covered on both sides.
